Thermal Printing
Which process is right for you? Silk-Screening or electronic printing?
There are basically four processes in which to label CD and DVD:
Silk Screening:
Silk screening is included with our CD-ROM duplication services. The Silk-Screening process uses costly equipment which requires set-up time. The advantage is the more copies you screen print the lower the unit cost per CD. A set-up charge applies. We can also screen print onto CD-R media.
Thermal Transfer:
We can electronically print one colour black using a thermal transfer print technology. This is very cost effective for either CD label printing on low to mid – print runs or for over printing. For example over printing title, revision and date on to generic screen printed CD’s. Turn-around can be as quick as next day.
InkJet:
We can elctronically print onto high quality paper giving almost photographic quality reproduction of full colour images. This is very cost effective on low to mid – mid print runs. Turn-around can be as quick as next day.
Laser Print:
We can produce a high quality laser print on a Paper Label to produce a professional 4 Colour Image. This is also very cost effective on low to mid – mid print runs. Turn-around can be as quick as next day. Otherwise Known as “On Demand Print”.
